The Eisenhower Fellowship
The Eisenhower Fellowship identifies, empowers and links outstanding leaders from around the world, helping them achieve consequential outcomes across sectors and borders. The fellowship provides a transformational experience leading to lifetime engagement in a global network, where dialogue and collaboration make the world more prosperous, just and peaceful. Dr. Uday Salunkhe participated in the 'South Asia Eisenhower Fellowship Program' in the year 2012.

Dr. Uday Salunkhe has undertaken several projects to connect with people from various sections of society and go beyond stereotypes. To name a few; Project Netrutva, includes college drop-outs into management education, Prayaas, caters to urban women entrepreneurs, Twareit, is a healthcare solution aiding the urban poor and Speak for Smiles, is a leadership talk series.

Event
A glittering ceremony held at the Y.B. Chavan Centre in Mumbai, one saw the stalwarts from India’s corporate arena getting honored for their meritorious contribution to the global business environment.
The event began with a panel discussion on, 'India 2025 - Problems and solutions' that brought to the table the collective wisdom of thought leaders like Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Shri. Y Deveshwar, Uday Kotak, Shri. Sunil Kaushal, Regional CEO - Standard Chartered Bank, with Shri. R Ramakrishan - Vice Chairman & Joint MD, Polycab steering the debate in the right direction.
Star of the Evening
The star of the evening was clearly the legendary Ratan Tata, a recipient of the BMA Diamond jubilee Lifetime Achievement Award himself, was a picture of grace and dignity as he deftly took over the mantle of felicitating the other awardees in the absence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis.
Star of the evening Ratan Tata had the following words of wisdom to share "This is new India, where your demographic group is not just a workforce but an intellectual asset. You need adrenaline in your system to go out and run a business. But as you become successful and grow, encourage the young enthusiasts to build India of tomorrow and the day after. All of you will make India the powerhouse that it desires to become."
His wonderful speech met with thunderous ovation from the crowd.

While accepting the award, Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool said, “To meet the demand of futuristic global leaders who will lead India, WeSchool has always strived at creating an ecosystem for convergence of design thinking, technology and empathy, supported by our world class faculty, result oriented teaching techniques and experiential learning. An educationist and a leader, Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, Welingkar has been at the forefront of management education for a while now. Ever since his early days at Welingkar, Dr. Uday Salunkhe has had a clear vision and mission and has acted on it and delivered. His work has not gone un-noticed. A variety of accolades and awards have been bestowed upon Dr. Uday Salunkhe and he has been recognized in the field of management education and rewarded for contributing to it significantly.
In March 2010 Dr. Uday Salunkhe was awarded the ‘MIEDA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION FIELD’ by the Maharashtra Industrial and Economic Development Association (MIEDA) which is a leading organization founded with an objective to put efforts for achieving inclusive and sustainable growth of the State. In February 2010, Dr. Uday Salunkhe was the recipient of the ‘Best Director Award’ by Dainik Bhaskar in the B-School Leadership Awards. Dr. Uday Salunkhe won the 'Best Teacher in Management Award- WEST’ in 2008 by the Deccan Herald’s Best B school awards for his significant contribution to developing leadership and helping shape the destiny of young professionals. In 2008 he was the recipient of the ‘B School Leadership Award’ by 16th Dewang Mehta Business School in recognition of leadership, development, innovation and industry interface of a Business School and in 2003 Dr. Uday Salunkhe won ‘The Outstanding Educationalist Award’ by the ‘International Institute of Education & Management’. |
